Manchester City star Yaya Toure has been named the 2013 African Footballer of the Year at the Glo CAF Awards in Lagos, Nigeria. Nigeria and Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel was the runner-up, with Ivory Coast and Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba third. "I am very proud and very happy to receive this award, but would also like to congratulate my brothers, John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba," the Ivory Coast midfielder said upon receiving the award for the third time.
